Model of "The TARDIS"

This model of a police box -- aka the outer shell of Doctor Who's time and space vessel the "TARDIS" -- was constructed mainly out
of 2mm medium-density fiberboard (MDF), with plasticard for the windows and window frames, and brass for the door handle and lock. The total
height is 8.3 inches to the top of the light, making the scale about 1/14th. For a larger pictures of both the final model and its construction, please click on any of the above images. The photo above was taken with a digital camera in two passes: a primary exposure with the model lit by two movie lights, and a second to capture the glow of the miniature lighting mounted in the model's top light and behind its windows. These two passes where then post-processed and composited in Photoshop. |
