After tackling the shoulder section, the gun and plunger were a little light model-making exercise. Both were largely made from aluminum tubing of
various guages, stuck through 25mm wooden balls (available in packs of 25 from Hobbycraft, and also essential in building the base section). This
allowed each final appendage to protrude from the shoulder section and be free-positional (if with the addition of various backing plates and Bluetak internally!).
As shown in the first picture, the gun was drilled to accept an array of eight 0.75mm brass rods. The plunger was then two rods (one fitting inside the other), with a "cup" on the end. This
cup part was initially sculpted in plastacine, from which a latex mould was taken. The thinner aluminium tube was then suspended in the middle of this mould (picture 2), so
permitting a solid resin cup to be very solidly cast onto its end. Finally both appendages were assembled and painted (picture 3).
